In October 1971, Robert Dash completed six paintings of his home and gardens at Madoo that would become maquettes for Garden magazine. Lines were chosen from the diary of his close friend James Schuyler, recipient of the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry. The following year the suite of six lithographs was printed by Yann Samson at Shorewood Atelier in New York City in two editions of 65, one in black and white and one in color.
